Yes I do, and I’ll go one further: I believe that all men SHOULD be feminists, just like all people should be against ANY systemic injustice and oppression.
Men need to be involved with stopping sexism the same way that whites need to be involved with stopping racism. Otherwise the oppressor is saying to the oppressed, “if you want my behavior to stop, it’s on you - why aren’t you stopping me?”
Male feminists are like white abolitionists - necessary. If the end of slavery depended on black people ending white prejudice, it certainly would not have ended when it did.
IN THAT CASE WHITE PEOPLE NEEDED TO SPEAK TO OTHER WHITE PEOPLE, SINCE RACISTS DON’T LISTEN TO PEOPLE OF COLOR. THE SAME WAY THAT SEXISTS DON’T LISTEN TO WOMEN. MEN HAVE TO BE INVOLVED IF WE WANT CHANGE.
